Searching using the command prompt in MS DOS

Useful command in DOS for searching within a directory :

findstr /spin /d:\dir1\dir2\ “searchstring”

Note:

Flags:

/s   Searches for matching files in the current directory and all subdirectories.

/p   Skips files with non-printable characters

/i   Specifies that the search is not to be case-sensitive.

/n   Prints the line number before each line that matches.
